SUMMER SCHOOLS

The BIP brought together students from different countries to explore how sustainability shapes contemporary business strategy, corporate governance, and decision-making. Through a combination of a virtual introduction and an intensive on-site programme in Maribor, participants examined key sustainability challenges facing organizations and acquired practical knowledge on integrating sustainable principles into business operations and long-term strategic development.

The programme combined interactive lectures, workshops, and project-based learning activities focused on sustainable business models, circular economy strategies, responsible finance, and AI-supported project management. Working in international teams, students addressed real-world sustainability challenges provided by an international consulting company, applying theoretical concepts to practical business situations and developing solutions with a strong sustainability focus.

A strong emphasis was placed on experiential learning and collaboration. Participants worked closely with academic experts and industry practitioners, gaining insight into current sustainability practices and emerging trends in business. The programme also included study visits to leading Slovenian companies, enabling students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life examples of sustainable business transformation. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and intercultural exchange, participants strengthened their strategic thinking and developed practical competences for addressing sustainability challenges in an international business environment.
