The BIP brought together students from different countries to explore how sustainability can be effectively implemented through corporate governance, strategic management, and project management. Combining a virtual component with an intensive on-site programme in Maribor, participants examined how organizations translate sustainability principles into concrete practices and integrate them into decision-making, leadership, and long-term development.
Through interactive lectures, workshops, and collaborative project work, students explored topics such as ESG integration, ethical leadership, stakeholder-oriented strategies, sustainable business models, and the governance mechanisms required to support sustainable transformation. Working in international teams, participants addressed real-life sustainability challenges provided by an international consulting company, applying theoretical concepts to practical organizational contexts and developing solutions to contemporary business issues.
The programme emphasized experiential learning and international collaboration. Participants worked alongside academics and industry experts, gaining practical insights into implementing sustainability within organizations and managing sustainability-related projects. Study visits to leading Slovenian companies further connected theory with practice, allowing students to observe sustainable business approaches first-hand. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and intercultural exchange, participants strengthened their strategic thinking and developed key competences for leading and managing sustainability initiatives in diverse organizational environments.
