The Buddy system is a project that aims to integrate and make exchange students feel at home in Maribor, from their first days in the city all the way through their exchange.

Each international student can ask to receive a local student as a tutor – the Buddy – who will be there to answer their questions, clarify their doubts and help them take their first steps in the new city. Be sure to check your email (spam/junk as well) to not miss the match notification! For additional questions, we are reachable at buddycoordinator@esn-maribor.org

We use the Papaya app for matching our local buddies with the incoming students. The app offers a fair matching system that takes into account similar interests, fields of study and spoken languages. It’s available as a website, but you’re also able to download the app on your Android or Iphone. The registration is similar to any social media page you’re probably a part of, but if you still have problems, contacts our buddy coordinator via the email below or us via our socials.
