Corporate Governance, Strategic and Project Management for Sustainable Development is an international Blended Intensive Programme organised by the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Maribor, focused on corporate governance, strategic management, and project management with a strong emphasis on sustainable development. The BIP took place from 15 to 19 September 2025. The programme combined virtual and on-site activities, including interactive lectures, workshops, case studies, company visits, and project-based teamwork.
The virtual session introduced students to sustainability challenges in corporate governance and strategy, presented by academic staff and professionals from companies such as LeitnerLeitner. Students discussed real-life business challenges and formed international teams for project work during the on-site part in Maribor.
During the physical week (15–20 September 2025), students engaged in lectures, workshops, and company visits covering topics such as AI-powered project management, sustainable strategic leadership, ethical leadership, family business transformation, and sustainable business models. They worked in international teams to develop solutions to real-life challenges, presenting their findings in the final session. The programme also included excursions to Slovenian companies recognized for sustainable practices, such as Lušt and Radgonske Gorice.
A total of 20 students from nine European countries participated, enhancing their intercultural competence, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills. Participants earned 3 ECTS credits and acquired practical knowledge and skills applicable to sustainable business practices and their future professional careers.
