Personal data protection

The University of Maribor – International Relations Office processes and protects individuals’ personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/ 679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (OJ L 119, 4.5.2016, pp. 1–88; hereinafter: General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR), the Personal Data Protection Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 163/22; hereinafter: ZVOP-2) and in accordance with other national and internal legal acts.

At the University of Maribor – International Relations Office, as a personal data controller, we are aware of the importance of individual privacy and are committed to protecting personal data. In order to implement the principle of fair and transparent processing of personal data, we have prepared a collection of general information on the protection of personal data at the University of Maribor – International Relations Office, which includes basic information on the processing of personal data, such as information on the controller and the person authorized to protect personal data, information on the purpose, users of the data, the retention period, and information on the legal basis and the rights of individuals.

The University of Maribor – International Relations Office updates the content of the information provided on personal data protection on an ongoing basis in order to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and other regulations, case law, and the positions of the Information Commissioner. In the event of significant changes, the University of Maribor – International Relations Office will notify all students and employees by e-mail and publish a special notice on its website.
